The Curing Room was once the place where local game was ‘cured’ in time-honoured Portuguese style for the famous Monchique sausage . Now, dramatically transformed into a cool living space which incorporates modern comfort with traditional stone walls and tiles - one double and one single beds. There is a convenient breakfast bar for making your own morning coffee. (Washing-up takes place in mountain at the original ‘font’ tap and sink outside the front door.)

The Curing Room opens onto the Kitchen Garden where herbs and vegetables grow, and its back door leads up to The Stone Circle, cobbled threshing area, and up to the terraces and woods.

The cosy, vibration of this room offers peace and serenity; those who’ve come to relax, rest and re-set their lives claim it is indeed a ‘Curing Room’
